Boat LIFT Manufacturer: Design Versus Reality A manufacturer of boat lifts teamed with Bodine's engineering staff to create a new high-capacity vertical lift that would be able to hoist and lower boats up to 10,000 lbs. The application called for a gearmotor that would operate continuously in the rolling saltwater environment, start and run under high torque condition, and secure itself when idle. Furthermore, the solution was to be operated with 24-volt DC battery and solar systems, thereby requiring energy efficiency to maximize lift cycles per charge.

Bodine created a custom solution based on the field-proven 42A-CG Series parallel shaft DC gearmotor. This rugged but efficient and safe design was a perfect fit for the customer’s stringent needs.
