PMDC Gearmotor Does the Heavy Lifting

In any work environment – manufacturing, retail, warehousing and logistics or other industries – staff is often required to move heavy loads. Material-handling duties in industry strongly relate to industrial injuries, in spite of a great deal of lifting aspects that can be done by lifting aids. When safety was a concern, and performance was required, this international lifting systems manufacturer came to us for a custom gearmotor — and our engineers delivered.
The Design Challenge
The customer required a very compact, still powerful gearmotor to lifting and hold secure load of up to 200 kg (440 lb). Because these lifts were to be portable, the background system worked only at 24VDC using battery power. The customer's goal was to simplify the system, eliminating external brakes; that required the box itself to be self-locking when loaded. Silent running was also an important requirement to render the lifts suitable for use in sound sensitive surroundings.
The Solution
Bodine engineers created a rugged design based on the successful 33A-GB/ H hollow shaft PMDC gearmotor. The last configuration was a long working time on the job lifting application, both in torque and strength.
